We managed to catch up with Shaz, who is our Works Manager for post production. He gave us an insight into his life and thoughts.

Q1 – What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?

I thrive on pressure, so I would say my motivation is to make sure that promises are fulfilled and deadlines are met. It’s something I take seriously and take pride in.

Q2 – Thinking of IH, what achievement are you most proud of?

I have worked here for 23 years so there are quite a few! Like Shak (Instinct Hardware Production Works Manager), I helped to put together the factory layout when we moved to Fordhouse Lane which I am still proud of. I am also proud of my teams in welding, polishing, packing and delivery. It can be a high pressure environment but we have a strong team.

Q3 – Who is your idol and why?

My parents are my idols. My dad in particular worked extremely hard all his life, and instilled that in me. Hard work pays off in the end.

Q4 – What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?

I am a proud father, so my favourite thing to do is spend time with my children and my wife. I work hard to give them all the opportunities to excel in life. As anyone with children knows, sometimes it’s a thankless task keeping them motivated, but I am very proud of them and the people they are.

Q5 – Tell us something most people won’t know about you.

I’m not sure people would really know who I am as they won’t tend to speak to me…but I am the guy that basically makes sure promises are fulfilled. I know that our customers are sometimes under immense pressure to meet deadlines. I try to take the stress out of that for them and take on that pressure myself to fulfil requirements.
